We’ve recently been made aware that individuals posing as Lambeth Council officers have been visiting homes on the Cowley Estate under false pretences. These people claim to be assessing repair issues on behalf of the Council, encouraging residents to submit disrepair claims through “no win, no fee” solicitors.

Please be aware that these are not official council representatives. Some residents have unknowingly signed legal paperwork, not realising they were being encouraged to sue the Council. This can lead to serious consequences, including court costs running into thousands of pounds.

If you’re approached by anyone claiming to be from the Council regarding repairs, please verify their identity. All genuine repairs should be reported directly to the Cowley Estate Office or the Cowley Repairs Team at CRMORepairs@lambeth.gov.uk.
